"In June 2025, our family’s world was flipped upside down when John, just 33 years old, was diagnosed with Stage IV Colorectal Cancer. Until that moment, we never imagined this disease could strike someone so young, healthy, and full of life.

Colorectal Cancer is often thought of as an illness that affects people over 50, but cases in younger adults have been rising sharply in recent years. In fact, Young-Onset Colorectal Cancer is now one of the fastest-growing cancer diagnoses in the United States. The reasons aren’t fully understood, which makes research and early detection efforts more critical than ever.

Since his diagnosis, John has shown us the true meaning of strength. His courage, determination, and unwavering spirit in the face of countless challenges have inspired everyone around him.

The Young-Onset Colorectal Cancer Center at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute is dedicated to advancing research, improving early detection, and providing specialized care for patients diagnosed before age 50. Their work offers hope, not only for John, but for thousands of young people facing this disease.

By supporting this fundraiser, you are helping to fuel groundbreaking research, provide vital patient support services, and bring us closer to a future where fewer families have to face this devastating diagnosis.

We fight for John. We fight for every young person facing this disease. We fight Veale Strong."
